Get to know the Surrealist artist Leonor Fini and her art - as only Skylands Museum can offer.

Hear from noted fine art authority, Carol Curci, AAA, who will discuss the life, talents and artworks of this spirited artist working in Paris among Surrealists, like Andre Breton, Salvador Dali, Leonora Carrington and others, during the 1930’s until her passing in 1996. This special event will be held on Friday, May 15 from 7 to 9 pm and be limited to 25 guests. Live music, refreshments and a silent auction will be included with Curci’s gallery presentation. Each paid guest will receive a gift bag of four softcover books and catalogues, along with 12+ vintage post-card sized reproductions of Fini's works. The silent auction will be in support of museum programming and include original Fini art, hardcover coffee table books and stunning hand-finished, silk scarves made in France with Fini art. Guests will have first access to the Fini...pas fini! temporary exhibition before it opens to the public.

Curci’s presentation will include hundreds of images and private insights that come from the friendship between Fini and Curci developed over the years when Curci sold the artist’s work to American collectors. Only Skylands Museum can offer this deep dive into the personality, development and accomplishments of the artist with such a personal perspective. Skylands co-founder and CFM Gallery owner, Neil P. Zukerman was among the first to embrace Fini’s imaginative and captivating body of work. Curci worked closely with Zuckerman as an independent fine art advisor and appraiser. We are fortunate to have her expertise.

Tom Shivers will have available Fini lithographs and coffee table books from the estate of his husband, Neil P. Zukerman. Payment will be by check directly to Mr. Shivers.
